Yesterday in the car on the way from school:
Madeleine: "Mom, do you know what American idol is?"
Kerry: "What is it?"
Madeleine: "It's about America and it's an idol."
Kerry: "Oh, is it good?"
Madeleine: "I don't know..."
Kerry: "Me either."
Today Madeleine was able to go to kindergarten for 2 hours for move up day. She had a blast, but was twirling her hair with her finger as fast as she was physically able. When I picked her up, she was all smiles and seemed to enjoy herself. She was excited that when you get to kindergarten if you listen and have good behavior, on some days you don't have to wear shoes (according to Madeleine). She was very excited about this possibility.
This space once chronicled life with children and our Dallas adventures. Now the kids are grown, and I’m still adventuring — traveling, thinking, and writing — as I learn to trade social media scrolling for slower reflections.
